When is Black Ops 7 coming out?
In June Activision shared a short trailer for the next Call of Duty game during the Summer Game Fest. Call of Duty games usually rotate between Black Ops Modern Warfare and other series so each team gets time to finish their game.

For the first time ever Black Ops is going straight from one game to the next. After 2024's Black Ops 6 we’re getting Black Ops 7. But it doesn’t continue the old story. Instead it jumps ahead to the year 2035 40 years after the events of BO6. Some familiar characters are back and the game brings wild new twists to the series. Here’s what we know about the BO7 release date so far.

Estimated Black Ops 7 release date

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will probably come out between late October and mid-November like most Call of Duty games. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC (through Xbox PC, Battle.net and Steam).

The new game's campaign usually starts while the last game's final season is still going. After the campaign begins the first season of the new game normally comes out.

We don’t know exactly when Black Ops 6’s final season will happen but we can guess based on past seasons. Season 4 ends on August 7, 2025. Since each season usually lasts 9 to 10 weeks Season 5 should end around October 9. That means a short Season 6 could go into November. This matches the idea that Black Ops 7 might launch in early November with Season 1 starting in December just like Modern Warfare 3 did.

Trailers Call of Duty Black Ops 7

The Black Ops 7 teaser trailer already shows us what we can expect when the game comes out.

First we meet The Guild a high-tech company that helps save lives using advanced robots in war zones. One of their robots takes David Mason into their building and talks about their technology. Then it introduces him to Emma Kagan the boss of The Guild who is voiced by Kiernan Shipka.

Halfway through the trailer Mason suddenly appears in a strange dream-like city. There, he comes face-to-face with his enemy Raul Menendez. A red butterfly follows Mason through these scenes hinting that Menendez is somehow connected to a group called The Guild. This suggests The Guild may not be as innocent as they seem.

Who is David Mason in Call of Duty Black Ops 7?

David Mason is one of the main characters from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. He is the son of Alex Mason another important character. In BO2 when David was young he was kidnapped by Menendez the main bad guy in BO7 who also helped cause Alex's death. After that David was raised by Frank Woods a key character from BO6.

David also known as Section grew up and joined the Navy SEALs just like his father and adoptive uncle. In Black Ops 2 set in the year 2025 he leads a team looking into a man named Menendez. They discover that Menendez is making his own weapons and military drones. If you watch the BO7 trailer closely some of the weapons look like the ones Menendez made in BO2. It seems like after being stopped by Mason in BO2 Menendez’s next move was creating The Guild.

That’s all we know about the Black Ops 7 release date for now but more news is coming this summer. Until then you can play the Black Ops 6 campaign again finish all the missions or unlock all the multiplayer camos. We also have plenty of BO6 guides to help you get ready before BO7 comes out.
