Hardcore Wipe Incoming Tarkov’s About to Get Way More Savage
In Escape From Tarkov losing everything is just a normal part of the game. These resets called wipes happen from time to time. When a wipe happens all your progress is erased you start from the very beginning again with no gear no money and no upgrades. You have to work hard to rebuild everything from scratch. Now the developers at Battlestate Games are planning a new kind of wipe that will make surviving and crafting in the game even harder than before. This update is coming as the full 1.0 version of Escape From Tarkov gets closer to release and it will also be available on Steam.

One of the biggest changes in this hardcore wipe is the removal of the flea market. Normally the flea market is a place where players can buy and sell items to each other. It helps you find weapons gear and supplies that you might not be able to get during raids. But in this new hardcore mode the flea market will be completely disabled. That means you won’t be able to buy or trade for items you’ll have to find everything yourself during missions. This change will make the game much more difficult especially for players who are used to using the flea market to get stronger quickly.

Another major change is coming to the Hideout the place where you craft items and upgrade your gear. In the hardcore wipe crafting will require more resources than before. You’ll need to collect a lot more materials if you want to make bullets healing items or other important gear. This means players will have to spend more time scavenging and looting just to craft the same things they used to make easily.

In short this hardcore wipe will make Escape From Tarkov much more challenging even for experienced players.

To make up for the flea market being closed Battlestate Games is changing how you build new Hideout Zones. Normally in Escape from Tarkov you can only build Hideout Zones using items that you find during a raid. These are called found in raid items. But during the special hardcore wipe event this rule will be changed. You won’t need only found-in-raid items anymore to upgrade your Hideout. This should make things a little easier for players.

However there’s still a catch. While it’s now easier to build in the Hideout the amount of ammo you can craft there will be limited. So you’ll still have to plan carefully.

The developers also shared that the chance of finding rare loot in the game will be lower. This has confused some players so the lead community manager Daniel Mavlyuberdinov explained what it really means.

He said that this doesn’t mean all loot is being reduced. Instead it means that powerful weapon attachments special ammo and similar rare items won’t be as easy to find as before. Also special loot rooms like marked rooms won’t give out top-tier loot as often. For example finding something very valuable like a Ledx will be much harder and if you do find one it should feel like a big reward that was truly worth the risk of going into the raid.

Battlestate Games says it will share more details about the big Escape From Tarkov wipe soon. This wipe is expected to happen sometime in July. The full 1.0 version of Escape From Tarkov is still planned to come out later this year so this is an important moment for the game and its players.
