The Bridges and Ports DLC is delayed but Cities Skylines 2 has a new update that adds quays and an important two-level bridge.
In Cities: Skylines 2 small things can make a big difference. When the game was announced fans were excited about new features like roundabouts and tools to make perfect road grids. These changes helped traffic move better in big cities. But some missing features like bicycles and bike lanes have been a problem. Some updates like Bridges and Ports are still delayed and other games like Transport Fever 3 and Worldwide Rush might take attention away. Still the developers are working hard and a new update brings helpful tools to improve traffic and train systems.
The Bridges and Ports DLC was delayed in May but the developers still released the free update on time. This update is called Quays and Piers and it’s free for all Cities: Skylines 2 players. It adds three types of quays narrow, medium and wide to the road-building menu. These automatically attach to water edges making it easier to build without needing to adjust things manually. You can also turn off the auto-snap feature and use the quays to make terraced land.
You can find piers in the landscaping menu under paths. They come in three sizes: narrow, medium and wide. To use them you need to connect them to normal roads or walking paths. You can build them over water to make your city’s shoreline look nicer.
The biggest change is the two new bridges. In the train menu there’s a double-truss bridge that lets you run two train tracks side by side over water. There’s also a double-deck bridge the top part has a four-lane road and the bottom part has two train tracks. This makes it easy to move lots of cars and trains across rivers without building everything piece by piece.
Colossal Order says the Quays and Piers update also fixes many bugs to make the game better. They know some problems are still there but they are working on them. They also thank players for reporting the issues they found.
