Dungeons and Dragons Battlemarked is a new game based on the popular virtual tabletop RPG Demeo. It will be available on Steam and for VR headsets.
Demeo was clearly inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. It brings a tabletop RPG game to PC and virtual reality, and playing together feels a lot like a DnD game even if it’s not officially called that. Later this year Demeo will officially become a Dungeons and Dragons game with Demeo Dungeons and Dragons Battlemarked. We just got a first look at how it plays and some new information about it.
Demeo DnD Battlemarked was announced earlier this year. We already had a good idea of what the game would be like like the regular Demeo virtual board Game but with a Dungeons and Dragons theme. Even though it’s its own game it doesn’t change much from the original Demeo. The new trailer and info released today confirm this.
The RPG makes beautiful game worlds that look like real places from Dungeons and Dragons. You play on a board with small character figures. The fighting happens in turns. The game is about playing with friends as a team and handling surprises together. Unlike Dungeons and Dragons there is no dungeon master in Battlemarked. If you played older versions of Demeo this will feel familiar.
To fit the detailed story world and make the game feel more like a real Dungeons and Dragons session DnD Battlemarked has made some improvements and changes.
Tommy Palm the founder and CEO of Resolution Games says that in Dungeons and Dragons the story is just as important as fighting. So they changed their game to include more story. They added exciting cut scenes, better conversations and more choices for players. This makes Battlemarked the next big step for the Demeo Action Roleplaying System.
Matt Sernett who helped create stories for Dungeons and Dragons and worked on Baldur's Gate games is now the main story writer for Battlemarked. This shows that Resolution Games is serious about the story.
DnD Battlemarked is made for virtual reality just like the original Demeo. You can play it on Steam and PlayStation 5 on a normal screen like a monitor or TV. But there will also be a special VR version for Meta and PSVR2.
Resolution Games said that Demeo Dungeons and Dragons Battlemarked will come out in late 2025. So we won’t have to wait too long for it.
