Paradox Interactive is mostly known for making historical strategy games like Crusader Kings 3, Victoria 3, Imperator Rome and the upcoming Europa Universalis 5. But the company also tries different kinds of games. They've published titles like The Lamplighters League from the makers of Shadowrun: Hong Kong the medieval fighting game War of the Vikings and they’re helping The Chinese Room with Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. Another one of these different projects was Empire of Sin a gangster strategy game set in 1920s Chicago. It came out in 2020 and didn’t make a huge splash but now surprisingly it’s getting a new expansion.

The new Hunt for Aurora DLC adds more depth to the game’s turn-based fights and criminal empire management. It brings new characters and features giving players more ways to control their gangs and take over the city.

Two new characters Robin Kray and his partner Sylvia Taylor are joining the game. They’re crime bosses looking to make money in Chicago’s dangerous underworld. Their main goal is to find the valuable Aurora diamond hidden somewhere in the city. The update also adds a new character class that fights enemies up close using melee attacks. You’ll also get a loyal dog companion new weapons like submachine guns, pistols, rifles and knives and a new dance club racket to run. There are 14 new missions that follow Kray and Taylor’s exciting journey to steal the diamond.

In addition to the new content the main game will also get some updates and bug fixes.

The Hunt for Aurora expansion for Empire of Sin is available now on Steam.
