People Can Fly the studio behind Outriders and Gears of War is stopping work on two games they were making. Because of this they need to make their teams smaller. One game is called Gemini which was going to be published by Square Enix. The other game is called Project Bifrost which they planned to publish themselves.
People Can Fly started in 2002. They helped make some big video games. They worked with Epic Games on Bulletstorm. They also led making Gears of War: Judgement. Now they are making Gears of War: E-Day with The Coalition. They made another game called Outriders which was released by Square Enix.
Today we made a hard choice to stop working on project Gemini and project Bifrost. People Can Fly’s CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski shared this news in a new statement and the reports have been shared with the market.
The Gemini project is paused because the publisher has not sent us a draft of the next part of the agreement. Also the publisher has not told us if they want to continue or stop the project.
Project Bifrost was stopped because the group’s money situation showed they didn’t have enough funds or resources to keep making and releasing it.
Because of this we need to change our studio a lot and make our teams smaller. This is very hard for us. We are very sorry about what happened and thank everyone for all their hard work so far.
People Can Fly's investor page says that Project Gemini was a big high-quality game made with Square Enix. It also says Bifrost will be a game they publish themselves.
