Overwatch 2 Stadium has been out for a few weeks now. Blizzard the game maker is sharing plans for the game mode’s future. They have listened to player feedback and will make changes in Season 17 and after. These changes include better matchmaking ways to stop Freja from being too strong new building features and an unranked mode. Stadium is here to stay and I’m excited to see what Blizzard does next.

On Friday, May 30 Blizzard shared a new blog called Tuning Up Stadium. It talks about how they are making the new Overwatch 2 mode Stadium, better. Stadium is already very popular even more than Quickplay and Competitive modes. Blizzard wants to keep improving Stadium So they will make many small changes soon.

Blizzard explained how they will fix matchmaking. They added a system to help new players get the right skill rating. But this system was used for all players not just new ones. This made matches less balanced than they wanted. They will fix this on June 3 with a patch. After that matches should get better over the next few weeks.

Blizzard knows that Freja is hard to fight in Stadium because one of her powers makes the game unfair. They will fix this soon. From Season 17 a new item will be added to help you stop her when she flies.

The team made Freja weaker so she is easier to fight. On May 28 Blizzard made some changes: they made her Quick Dash take longer to use from 4 to 4.5 seconds and her Updraft cooldown longer, from 10 to 12 seconds. They also made her Take Aim ability weaker by making its slow time shorter and changing its speed. So if you played Freja lately that's why she is not as strong as before.

Builds are very important in Stadium. So Blizzard made a new feature called Forge in Season 17. You can save your builds in the Practice Range and use them in any game from the Armory. You can also share your builds with anyone. This way you can see what others use for your favorite hero and make your own builds to share with everyone.

Blizzard will also add more example builds for each hero. They will give advice for playing early and late in the game. This will help new players start playing more easily even if they don’t know much about building heroes.

Blizzard is adding a new unranked Stadium mode soon. It will be shorter with best-of-five matches instead of seven. You’ll get more money to try more strategies faster. Blizzard knows that casual players might leave games more often So they made a fix. If someone leaves new players can join right away and get the same amount of money as others So they don’t fall behind. This works like Quickplay mode.

Blizzard says they will add more rules for playing together in Stadium soon. It will work like the rules in Overwatch Competitive Mode. This means players will only play with others who have similar skill levels. This will help good players and those who wait a long time to find games.
