Persona 5 The Phantom X Breaks P5R's Steam Record on Day One
After teasing it for a long time Persona 5 The Phantom X is finally available for players all over the world. The game has now launched globally and is already doing really well on Steam. Before this the game was only released in a few Asian countries but now anyone can play it. It’s the newest spinoff of the very popular Persona 5 JRPG series and fans are really excited. The game takes us back to Tokyo where you join a new main character and a group of Phantom Thieves. Together you explore mysterious places called palaces and try to change the hearts of bad people. Best of all it’s free to play on Steam and in just a few hours it already had more players than Persona 5 Royal ever had.

Even though Persona 5 Royal is still one of the best JRPGs out there especially after the launch of the new fantasy game Metaphor ReFantazio Persona 5 The Phantom X offers a fresh experience. This version changes some things from the original game. For example instead of the old calendar system it now uses an energy system to manage what your character does each day. The game also includes a gacha system this means you can unlock new characters through random chances kind of like in Genshin Impact. With its new cast and exciting features it’s a great way for both old fans and new players to enjoy the Persona world in a new way.

In this game you play as the main character called Wonder a name you can change since it’s based on your own choice. As you explore the world you can recruit many different characters to join your version of the Phantom Thieves. Some of these characters are brand-new while others are familiar faces from the original Persona games. Popular characters like Joker, Morgana, Ryuji and Ann can be added to your team using the gacha system.

All the key parts of Persona gameplay are included here. You’ll go through palaces, explore side dungeons and visit Mementos. Social links also return where you build relationships with others. There’s also a brand-new mode called The Velvet Trials which adds more challenges. During the day your character goes to school, joins clubs, or works part-time jobs. At night you enter the Metaverse to fight enemies. There’s also a cool new feature called Phantom Idols. It lets you create special versions of your Confidants that can fight with you in battles.

Persona 5 The Phantom X just launched today, Thursday, June 26 and it’s already doing really well. In fact it has broken the previous record for most players on Steam that was held by Persona 5 Royal. Right now over 40,000 people are playing it at the same time and that number is still going up. Since the game is free to play and the original Persona 5 didn’t come to PC until many years after it was first released on consoles it makes sense that so many people are trying it. Still it’s very impressive to see the game become this popular so quickly.
