Spiritfarer Dev Returns with Stunning 2D Action-Adventure Game At Fate’s End

The creators of the sad but beautiful game Spiritfarer have made a new game called At Fate's End. It is a lovely 2D action game with a strong story.

Some games can make you cry. For example the ending of Plague Tale: Requiem or a part in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. If a game makes you feel this way it’s doing a good job. I like story games and I have many sad games in my Steam collection. Spiritfarer is one of the saddest and most touching games. Now the makers of Spiritfarer have a new game called At Fate’s End. It’s an action-adventure game full of feelings where your enemies are your brothers and sisters. What you do can bring your family back together or make things worse.

You are Shan a young member of the Hemlock family. You have a strong sword called Aesus. You need to fight your brothers and sisters to become the leader of your family. This might sound like a normal game but instead of just fighting At Fate’s End adds a story to every battle.

In the trailer Shan and her older sister Camilla start with a hug but then begin to fight. During the fight a short scene appears where you can choose one of three things to say. These choices show how close the sisters are. You need to understand your siblings well. If you want to fix your relationship be careful during fights saying the wrong thing could break your bond forever.

The game’s skill tree is connected to the story. Your friends in the game help you get different skills based on how close you are to them. You need to pick your skills carefully to match how you like to play.

In At Fate’s End there are many different endings and the future of the Hemlock Clan depends on you. Every fight is important and your choices change the story. The game is about action but the relationships between characters are very important too.
