A new teaser from Mojang hints that the next Minecraft update might focus on one special material.
Minecraft has already had a lot of new updates and content this month. One of the biggest changes is the new Vibrant Visuals which has made the game look better than ever. Minecraft is already one of the best PC games ever made and now it looks even more beautiful. Even though this update just came out Mojang is already teasing something new. Right now fans are sharing all kinds of guesses some based on clues and some just for fun.
In a new post shared on the official Minecraft Instagram page the game’s developer Mojang, showed a small and quiet cave scene. At first it might look like a normal cave. But if you look more carefully you will notice something strange. There are two letters C and U carved into the wall. On the cave floor there are two numbers 2 and 9. Along with these visual hints, a game notification also pops up in the picture. It says Teleported Steve to 29, 11, 63.54. The caption of the post is also connected to this clue and simply says: /tp which is a teleport command in the game.
All of these things together form a very strange and mysterious collection of clues. So now people are starting to guess what they could mean. There are already many fan theories. Let’s look at a few of them and also think about which ones don’t really make much sense.
Some people believe that the numbers 29, 11 are hinting at a major update that will happen on November 29. But that date is still very far away so it’s hard to believe Mojang would tease something this early. Others think that the letters C and U along with the number 2 mean that a Caves Update 2 is coming soon. But that also doesn’t seem right because Mojang already released a big update called Caves and Cliffs back in 2021 and it came in two parts. So another caves update isn’t very likely right now.
One fan even said that the letters and numbers C U 2 9 sound like the sentence See you tonight. That person was hoping that Mojang would make a big surprise announcement that very night. Sadly nothing happened so that theory didn’t work out. Lastly a few players are guessing that the number 2 means Minecraft 2 is going to be announced on November 29. But let’s be honest Mojang has not said anything about making a Minecraft 2 so it’s probably not happening anytime soon.
There’s one strong and very detailed theory that looks very correct. It came from two Instagram users meowze_x and charles__75 who worked together to figure it out. They believe this teaser is all about an update for copper in Minecraft.
Now I know you didn’t come here for a science class but stay with me. On the periodic table copper is called Cu. It has the atomic number 29 and it is in group 11. But here’s the cool part its atomic mass is 63.546. These numbers actually match the clues we’ve seen in the teaser like the coordinates in the cave where Steve appeared. That’s why this theory makes so much sense.
What Mojang is really planning to do with copper is still a mystery. Maybe we’ll be able to use copper in new ways or craft new items with it. Another idea is that the Copper Golem might finally be added to the game. This mob lost in the 2021 community vote but became a fan favorite and meme. We’re not sure yet but it definitely seems like this update will have something to do with copper.
