CD Projekt Red promised Cyberpunk 2077 fans that the Nintendo Switch 2 port will improve on previous versions and avoid the problems seen in the PS4 and Xbox One releases.
CD Projekt Red has worked hard to improve Cyberpunk 2077 and fix its reputation. They have mostly delivered the game they promised. However the bad launch still lingers. Many of us remember playing it when it first came out dealing with poor ports that were even taken off sale.
Cyberpunk 2077's rough launch on PS4 and Xbox One feels like it's in the past. but worries resurfaced when it was announced the game would release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in an Ultimate Edition. Since the Switch 2 is said to be similar to a PS4 in power many are concerned about its performance.
Cyberpunk 2077's Switch 2 Port Improves on PS4 and Xbox One Versions
CD Projekt Red has reassured fans about the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2. After hands-on previews showed it is a good fit. CD Projekt engineer Tim Green shared more details when asked about the Switch 2 port.
Green said the Switch 2 port builds on the strong foundation of the original game from PS4 and Xbox One. While development had challenges CD Projekt made careful choices to stay true to the games vision without compromising it.
Green mentioned that the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 will run at 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode which seems stable. The handheld version will also support DLSS. which is impressive considering the size of the game.
