I didn’t expect anything this week to take my focus away from the Oblivion Remaster. But here I am amazed by how big the launch of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has been. This beautiful turn-based RPG from French studio Sandfall Interactive is already in the Game of the Year discussion. While high quality doesn't always mean high sales Sandfall has managed to achieve both. Even with it being on Xbox and PC Game Pass Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has already reached a major sales milestone just one day after launch.

Yesterday I talked about how Clair Obscur Expedition 33 had a great start on Steam. It reached over 50,000 players at its peak and had an impressive 93% user review score. Since then things have improved even more it now has over 71,000 players and the user score is up to 94%.

Steam stats can give a basic idea of how a game is doing. but with Expedition 33 also available on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Game Pass it doesn't show the complete picture. This might help give a better view.

Sandfall and publisher Kepler Interactive have announced that over 500,000 copies of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 have been sold within about 24 hours marking a huge achievement.

This should only refer to the paid sales of the game not the many people who will play it on Xbox and PC Game Pass. Since the game is available on Microsoft's popular subscription service these sales numbers are even more impressive.

We reached this milestone faster than we expected. Thank you everyone
