If I Could Romance God, I Definitely Would

Finding a good romance is not hard but finding one that's supernatural is. Best case scenario you will meet an NPC who changes your worldview and challenges you to be a better hero. Worst case scenario it is a forgetful life partner you keep around so you are not alone. But that raises the question: what happens when you try to seduce a god?

As a youth, Harvest Moon (now Story of Seasons) introduced me to a cozy farming sim with romance. When I saw Animal Parade, I knew I'd immerse myself in the most entertaining game ever it had animal husbandry rivalries, and romance that was unmatched by anything I'd played before.

I played matchmaker with the whole town, carefully choosing my future partner so I could make the most of the next generation. There was one problem though my lovemaking would not begin until all the work was done.

That's because the King of the Harvest, aka the God of the Farm had not even acknowledged me until then. What better way to get a happy and fulfilling performance review than by seducing a god and raising god's children in a cozy little farming sim?

The sheer power of raising two gods in a small town by the sea and the lonely life they lead cannot be compared to any games romance options though it did open my eyes to a whole new world of thrilling romance with gods.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Elevated God-Romance to New Heights

My first attempt as an Inquisitor set me up with the clans, and though I do not regret it, I admit that Souls is the superior route. At least for the plot. At first I thought that was annoying but when I watched the end credits I realized I missed out on millennial romance.

Wooing an ancient, weary god in a war-torn land? Challenge accepted. And though I never finished The Wellguard', the dream of meeting a lost love was enough to keep me going. It did not give me as much excitement as Harvest King but it did strengthen my need to find the next satisfying romance with a god.

Baldur's Gate 3 Tested My Unbreakable Will

Gael, who dreams of becoming a god, won my heart. Can I really romance a god? One with high aspirations and kind intentions? The result might not be what my heart wanted, but it is what my soul needed; a man who would throw a bullet at a god to live a simple life in Waterdeep with his beloved priest.

If the Sword Coast rules were not so strict about the rules needed to become a god, it would be perfect. Having an ex-lover be a god was a nice twist but it wasn't what I was looking for. Baldur's Gate 3 did raise the bar for storytelling but it was not the humble and low-key premise that I really fell in love with.

It is one thing to fight for love, especially when your partner keeps trying to beat his chest at every opportunity instead of talking about the direction of your relationship. However. I am a simple girl and my desires are simple too. I don't need a hero to save the world for me just someone special who's willing to take a chance on me and my little farm.

Fields of Mystery Keeps the Trend Going in the Genre

Okay, to be honest do I need a romance with a god? Absolutely. Not only is it the ultimate power-packed move, but it takes the plot to a whole new level. A simple farmer winning the cynical heart of an immortal god is exactly the type of escape I need.

Fields of Mystery followed through with the same endearing plot. Not only will you be able to romance the mythical god, but by the time you finally meet him in person, you'll have built up a solid relationship with him through the main storyline.

Fields of Mystery is the next hit I've been looking for. Not only does it have the chance to find love with an ancient dragon god, but it's already tied into the storyline. Since there are already so many eligible bachelors and bachelorettes available I no longer have to decide who to settle for.

Seriously it is a not fair how good each candidate is but when there's a chance to become God's favorite peasant I am going to hit my target. If anyone is going to marry God, you can bet it is me.
