Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Could Become the Next Digimon Game Here's Why

Swapping game characters using mods isn’t new. Recently someone replaced Henry in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with Shrek and Mutt with Donkey. Last year someone also changed James from Silent Hill 2 into CJ from GTA: San Andreas and Leon from Resident Evil.

So even though this isn't something new the next project is still worth some praise. One player is working hard to replace all the characters in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with ones from Digimon.

One Fan is Laying the Groundwork for a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 x Digimon Crossover

On Nexus Mods a Digimon fan has been swapping the main characters of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with Digimon.

Just four days after the game came out modder HallowSL replaced some of Verso's costumes with WarGreymon. After that, the trend really took off.

A few days later, on April 30 Gestral Noco was replaced by ToyAgumon. Two of Maelle's costumes were changed to Minervamon. After that Sciel's outfits were changed to Dianamon.

The strange world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 makes the Digimon characters seem like they belong there. They look a bit out of place next to the game’s regular characters. but when they’re with each other they match really well. Noco as ToyAgumon fits perfectly in this setting.

HallowSL is clearly working hard on making Digimon versions of Gustave Lune and Monoco and I’m So excited to see them. I didn’t know I wanted to hear Ben Starr as a Digimon but it sounds great. Is there anything he can’t do?

These mods by themselves make the game deserve all the great support it’s getting.
