Create Your Own DBD Chapter Design it Yourself

Behavior has introduced Choose Your Own Chapter giving the DBD community the power to decide the direction of a new Dead by Daylight update.

The Dead by Daylight anniversary livestream is full of exciting news and this year is no different. Along with new collaborations and updates about the FNAF chapter Behaviour introduced Choose Your Own Chapter a brand-new DLC created by the dedicated DBD community. We talked to the team to find out more about it.

In an interview with Gamefusionusa Dead by Daylight game director Mathieu Cote shared that the new chapter of the game was inspired by the choose-your-own-adventure books he loved as a kid. He mentioned that many people, including himself used those books as a way to get into Dungeons and Dragons and other role-playing games.

The plan is to start a big story after [PAX] with different choices along the way Cote says. We’ll let the community vote on these choices. This will create an exciting story and help people understand the killer and survivor from this chapter.

For example the chapter could be futuristic modern or historical. It might be sci-fi or a classic slasher or even about a normal guy who's just really mean as Cote suggests. Then the dev team will create a new killer and survivor. If you're worried about missing anything Behaviour has a plan called Change Your Fate to help with that.

This idea comes from the old choose-your-own-adventure books where you could pick different paths in the story. Cote explains In those books you'd decide to turn to page 37 or 35 and see what happens. You'd check the options make your choice and try not to get stuck. We want to do something similar. In our story there won’t be any wrong choices but we’ll let people see what the other options would have been, so they can change their mind if they want. Cote finishes by saying It’s going to be a fun experience for our community. I think that sounds great too.

Cote says that the Choose Your Own Chapter options will start in a few weeks but the actual content will take longer. Dead by Daylight's Choose Your Own Chapter is expected to come out in 2026 probably around May based on the game's usual schedule.

This is big news but it might not be enough to beat the upcoming DBD FNAF chapter which is coming in a few weeks. The FNAF DLC is the most requested one in DBD's history featuring Springtrap as a new killer along with a special guest. After FNAF the next chapter will be The Walking Dead.
