The new indie game from Dead by Daylight's Behaviour mixes Minecraft's blocky style with horror and it looks really scary.
A long time ago I read a book about The Devil. Is he the small horned goat-legged figure who causes trouble? Or is he that creepy thought in your head that urges you to mess things up and see what happens? This idea stuck with me for years (I read it over ten years ago) and now the new horror game It Has My Face by Dead by Daylight's Behaviour Interactive has made me think about it again.
It Has My Face gives you one job: kill your clone. You are stuck in a strange creepy world filled with confused people waiting for your clone to attack. It's a fight for survival you have to kill yourself. Now you can see why this reminds me of that book right?
In this bleak sci-fi world you'll find different tools to help you track down and eliminate your clone. These include weapons gadgets (like a scanner shown in the game) and new strategies to spot them in crowds. Watching people's behavior is just as important as being quick with your weapon So stay alert for anything strange.
Just because one run goes well it doesn't mean the next one will be a win. It Has My Face's maps are randomly created. So every game feels different. The AI behaves in unexpected ways and tools are placed in random spots. While it won't learn and adapt like the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation the sense of paranoia will only grow as you continue.
It Has My Face has different maps that give you clues about the main story. Why are there clones? What are they up to? Why is the world so sad? There are a lot of questions and hopefully you'll last long enough to find the answers.
Behaviour has confirmed that It Has My Face will be released in early access in 2025. In the meantime a new demo is now available on Steam and you can try it out here.
