New Diablo 4 Berserk cosmetics are now available in the game but buying all the premium items could cost you $150.
The Diablo 4 Berserk crossover is now live but it’s pretty expensive if you want the new outfits. The famous manga by Kentaro Miura has inspired many games like Dark Souls Elden Ring, Final Fantasy and Dragon’s Dogma. Now it’s officially part of Blizzard’s ARPG. The new items look great but many players think they cost too much.
The Diablo 4 and Berserk crossover adds special outfits for a few classes. Barbarians get the Berserker armor, Necromancers get the Skull Knight set and Rogues get two options: the Hawk of Light and the Struggler. If you play a different class there’s nothing new for you this time. Each armor set costs 2,800 Platinum. The new pet The Schnoz also costs 2,800. The Warhorse of the Hawk bundle is 2,500 Platinum.
That adds up to 16,500 Platinum total. Blizzard sells different bundles in the game's store. but none of them give you exactly that amount. The closest option is the $149.99 / £125.99 bundle, which gives you 18,500 Platinum more than you need. So you'll have 2,000 left over. You can earn a little Platinum by playing but the new Season 8 Reliquaries (which replace the battle pass) only give 200 and that’s only if you don’t spend any to unlock premium tiers.
There are no gameplay benefits in this bundle and you don’t need to buy everything if you only like one item. Two of the sets are for the Rogue. So buying it all might not be worth it. For comparison the Diablo 4 expansion bundle (which includes the main game and the Vessel of Hatred Expansion) costs $69.99 / £59.99 on the Blizzard store and it's currently on sale. That means these cosmetics cost more than twice as much as the game and its expansion.
Many people on the Diablo Reddit are unhappy. Some were excited about the event but changed their minds because of the high cost. One player said I really wanted to buy the pet and thought it would be around ten dollars. I lost interest quickly after seeing the real price.
The most frustrating part for me is that the few in-game Berserk items you can earn and the Diablo 4 Twitch drops for the event are the least exciting rewards. There are only a few trophies and markings for your character or mount with no armor skins or weapons to unlock. If you are not planning to spend money there's not much reason to join the event.
Overwatch 2 has teamed up with many pop culture brands like Transformers, One-Punch Man, My Hero Academia and K-pop group Le Sserafim. This could be a new trend for Diablo 4. Berserk seems like a great match for Sanctuary. but I’m So curious to see where Blizzard will set limits in the future.
Watch for the Diablo 4 Season 9 release date to know when the next reset happens or check out other great ARPGs like Diablo.
