The new LoL patch 25.11 is on the PBE but it doesn’t include any new skins. This is because Riot is busy reworking the Masque of the Black Rose set.
At the start of 2025 League of Legends had a tough time, partly because the high-cost skins were not as good as expected. One of the first skins released in 2025. the Masque of the Black Rose set had this problem too even though it was included in the battle pass. Riot is now working to improve these skins. The set includes Elise, Ezreal, Renata Glasc, Samira, Vladimir and a Prestige Katarina and the splash art for these skins looks amazing. The theme is also interesting focusing on the Black Rose a secret society in the League of Legends world.
When MOBA fans actually saw these skins in the game they were disappointed. The designs seemed dull and basic which was surprising given the high cost of some of them and the big expectations set by the splash art.
On November 25th updates for skin line changes will come and you can already see the new visuals on the PBE. Elise, Renata, Samira and Vladimir are the champions getting better graphics. SkinSpotlights made a video comparing the old and new looks which you can watch below.
The work on updating the Black Rose skins has caused a delay. Riot said that they paused skins that were supposed to come out soon so they could focus on improving the Black Rose skins with updates to models, textures and effects. As a result there will be no new skins in the 25.11 update.
Riot's mention of an upcoming window is unclear. So it's hard to say if there will be more than one patch without new skins. But I think it's just referring to patch 25.11. It would be strange to have two updates in a row without skins right? Getting even one without them is unusual.
LoL patch 25.11 will be released on Wednesday, May 28 based on Riot's schedule.
