Trench Tales is a horror-action shooter set in a WW1-like world. After months of testing it's now available in early access.
I’ve always liked the feeling of Battlefield 1. It’s a dark intense shooter especially for a popular game. Death comes fast there are explosions everywhere and the ground is full of mud. It’s grim and not glamorous. The indie game Trench Tales follows this style well. It’s a third-person action-horror game set in a spooky alternate version of WW1 and it’s coming to Steam in early access soon.
Trench Tales offers a lot of features especially for a game made by just one person. You can use many types of guns including handguns, sniper rifles and heavy weapons. These can be customized with different parts like stocks, grips and barrels. You can also break walls to take out enemy cover. With its tactical action Trench Tales is often compared to top WW2 games like Sniper Elite and Brothers in Arms.
It looks cool too. The dark trenches destroyed cities and fiery battlefields are eerie and unusual. The enemies soldiers with gas masks attached to their decaying flesh are pretty unsettling. But the supernatural parts of Trench Tales aren't just for looks. The soldier you control can heal himself slow time and see through walls. Why he has these powers and what he's doing in these war-torn lands are mysteries you’ll discover as you play.
You can get Trench Tales on Steam Early Access starting May 6 2025.
