Parkside: Decayed Soul Manipulation is an exciting Cyberpunk stealth-action game. You can try the demo and play it right now.
It's strange to say this about a game like Cyberpunk 2077 which got a lot of criticism at first, but its fighting is actually better than many think. It might not be as complex as Deus Ex but it's fun and exciting because the makers worked on it for years. At the start the game feels tight and hard, but as you get stronger you become very powerful. There is a new indie game called Parkside: Decayed Soul Manipulation by Banana Hardsoft that promises even more crazy action and you can try its demo now.
The first thing you notice about Parkside is its rough low-quality style. The people look strange like blurry pictures on blocky shapes. The world is dirty and full of trash. Cyberpunk 2077 looks shiny and clean, but Parkside feels like an old distorted VHS tape. It’s both ugly and interesting different from many cyberpunk games that have bright glowing colors.
Parkside is easy to control but hard to win. You move fast and can use many things around you. But your character is weak and police are everywhere. The guns are strong but hard to handle. The story is interesting. You play as a hacker named Alexander. A group called the Illuminated Brethren of Conclave Automata kidnaps him and makes him fight their enemies through virtual reality. The game asks deep questions about the body and control like other good cyberpunk games.
You can try the Parkside: Decayed Soul Manipulation demo on Steam. The full game will come out later in 2025.
