Try Mycopunk Now: Chaotic Co-Op FPS Revealed with Instant Demo Access

Mycopunk has been revealed with a gritty cel-shaded art style and unique weapon designs. It also has a Steam demo available.

There’s still a big demand for competitive PvP shooters but right now co-op PvE games are thriving. Games like Helldivers 2 Space Marine 2 and Deep Rock Galactic are popular and soon Killing Floor 3 and FBC Firebreak will join them. Mycopunk is the latest game to try this out offering a unique art style crazy weapons with wild upgrades and a funny tone. Even though it is just been revealed. you can try it now with a multiplayer demo available on Steam.

With Borderlands being so popular and Borderlands 4 coming soon a co-op FPS with cel-shaded graphics might seem strange. But from what I have seen of Mycopunk it looks like it’s trying hard to stand out. The basic idea is similar to Helldivers 2: you are in a squad on a space station above a planet full of dangerous fungus. You gear up hop into a drop pod and head to the surface to fight the fungus which is taking over the planet its creatures and its tech. You are part of the team sent to clean it up.

You will team up in squads of three and head into battle with futuristic weapons tools and abilities. The game features a unique gunsmith system where you can add mods to a gun using a puzzle like minigame. Mods come in different shapes and sizes and you must fit them together on a grid with limited spaces.

On your mission you'll fight fungi bugs and rogue robots to stop the spread. You'll also collect resources to upgrade your gear. There's a bit of extraction too where you return to your pod with what you have gathered. Most of the time you will travel on foot but there are also jump pads rails and vehicles to help you move.

The game offers a lot especially considering it is the first from Pigeons at Play. But what I really like is the art style. The robot designs weapon details and the gritty corrupted environments all look great with the cel-shaded look.

The best part of Mycopunk is that even though it was just revealed today you can try it right away.
