If you like the spaceship battles in No Man's Sky and the loot hunting in games like Destiny 2 or Diablo then Everspace 2 might be your ideal game. It focuses on a great single-player experience instead of PvP or co-op fights and offers a lot of content to keep you busy. Now it has even more to offer. The latest DLC Wrath of the Ancients adds new story elements expands the galaxy and introduces more ships.

The Wrath of the Ancients expansion is important for two main reasons. First it adds a lot of new content to Everspace 2. Second the developer, Rockfish Games recently decided to lower the price of the DLC by five dollars making it more affordable. They explained this decision by saying that prices are rising everywhere and they wanted to help. This expansion will be the last DLC and final content update for Everspace 2 as the team moves on to their next project.

The Wrath of the Ancients expansion is set after the main game. It takes players to areas controlled by the Okkar with four new star systems. These areas have story missions side quests puzzles and more. Rockfish estimates that it will take about 10 hours to complete all the new content.

To explore this new part of the galaxy you’ll get some Okkar technology for yourself. One of the faction’s ships the Wraith is now yours. Along with it you’ll find many new weapons and ship parts to unlock. The Wraith also has a special skill that changes its look and abilities. Because of the Wraith your ship hangar is now bigger and can hold one more ship.

A free update is being released for all Everspace 2 players alongside the DLC launch. It includes a lot of bug fixes and improvements to make the game better. As support for the game is slowing down this update feels like the final big one though small fixes and more updates could come in the future if there’s enough demand from the community.
