Reka a survival sandbox game based on Slavic folklore is like Valheim mixed with a bit of The Witcher. It now features new plants and potions.
Reka is a cozy witch sandbox game set in a fantasy European wilderness. It combines exploration and building like in Valheim, and lets you create your own walking hut as an apprentice to the famous Baba Yaga. The game offers a peaceful thoughtful experience compared to exploring in The Witcher 3. Now the developers at Emberstorm Entertainment are adding more elements of the forest witch's lifestyle.
Reka's early access has been well received by players getting an 85% positive rating. Even though there are some bugs and it's still being developed players love the atmosphere and sense of place. The environments are stunning and eerie and the feature that lets you befriend animals and take them on your journey adds something special to the game.
The new Roots and Remedies update is out today. It lets witches grow their own garden with many types of seeds. You can water them and watch them turn into crops like pumpkins, cabbage, garlic, grain, sage, wolfsbane and poppies. Once your plants are ready you can take them to a new Herbalist Workshop and make potions from your harvest.
The Tonic of Communication adds a fun new feature to Reka: talking to animals. We saw how much you liked holding your furry and feathery friends, so we’ve gone a step further now you can talk to them too. This new potion lets you chat with any animal in the game, like cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, deer, crows and more but only for a short time.
The update adds new places to explore in the woodland with more villagers needing help. One of them is a mysterious artist who might sell their paintings if you offer the right price. Emberstorm also improved Reka's interface and menus making it easier to switch between items.
