Helldivers 2 Dev Promises Full Control 100% Decision Power on Next Game

The boss of Helldivers 2 maker Arrowhead says they won’t work with Sony for their next game. They will pay for the game by themselves.

Helldivers 2 is still doing well even though it had some hard times after it came out last year. The top boss at Arrowhead the company that made the game said they are now thinking about new and exciting ideas for their next game. This new game will be fully paid for by Arrowhead. This also means Arrowhead will not work with Sony and PlayStation for their next game even though they said Helldivers wouldn’t exist without Sony’s help.

Helldivers 2 is a very popular game that you play with friends. Arrowhead and Playstation worked well together on it. Arrowhead got a lot of help from Playstation’s advertising which made the game more famous. Playstation was happy too because having Helldivers 2 helped them during a tough time with their other games.

Sony made a mistake by forcing Steam players to create and link a PlayStation account. Many people didn’t like this and the game was removed from Steam in many countries because it didn’t support PlayStation’s network. Because of this some people think Arrowhead would have been better off without Sony. Even though the studio’s boss said they won’t work with Sony or anyone else for their next Game they still feel thankful and speak highly of Sony.

Forbes saw a message from CEO Shams Jorjani in the Helldivers 2 Discord. He said that because fans have been very supportive the company Arrowhead has a bright future. This support lets them try new ideas they couldn't before. Their next game called Game 6 will happen because of the fans. He also said Arrowhead is paying for the next game themselves So they get to make all the decisions.

Jorjani really likes Sony. He says PlayStation is great. Without them there would be no Helldivers. We want to work with them again. They care a lot about games and developers. They are good partners. I’m just being honest not saying things to be nice.

I'm excited to see what Arrowhead will make next outside of the Helldivers games. It seems like they are moving in that direction because Sony is not helping with their next game. Arrowhead is good at making fun and lively game worlds. So I think they will do more of that in the future. Or since Jorjani says they now have real freedom They might make something new and very different from before.
